Driving a State owned vehicle

Any operator driving a state-owned vehicle while conducting state business should have an “Operator ID”, (Rule 27-3-3 opens in a new tab) which is created by the Department or Agency for their employees.

Any operator driving a state-owned vehicle while conducting state business should have an “Operator ID”, (Rule 27-3-3) which is created by the Department or Agency for their employees. Employees must take the Defensive Driver Test every two years and maintain an active drivers license.

Mobility Options for Approved State Employees

Vehicles can be rented by any State Employee with an active Operator ID from either the Agency or shared motor pools. Other transportation options are available for State Employees, such as renting a vehicle through Enterprise or hailing a ride through Uber. These are for State business use only as the rates are obtained through State signed agreements.
